Uno & Showing Love
Tonight we played some Uno. It came to my turn. I put my blue card down. Kzena was next. She had one card left, a red one. Zaraya was after her and only had one card left too, a green one. Since Kzena couldn’t go she picked up, a colour wild card. I could see her mind immediately start to whirl and the internal debate within her was strong. She leaned forward and stretched out her hand, ready to lay the card. She pulled it back. She started at her two cards, then carefully laid the wild card down and said, “green”.
Zaraya jumped and squealed as she laid her winning card onto the discard pile, completely oblivious to the choice Kzena made. I love seeing my children put each other before themselves. It’s only a card game, but it also meant since the game was over it was bedtime, and seeing Kzena choose to let her baby sister win makes me so happy inside my eyes are all leaky.

Awww... how precious was that moment! What a tender hearted little (or rather BIG) girl Kzena is. Sweetness!
